Contaminants Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR)
Contaminants biologists in Region 2 restore habitats and resources injured by releases of
hazardous substances using a process called Natural Resource Damage Assessment and
Restoration (NRDAR). The goals of NRDAR are to restore the habitats and
resources to the condition they would have been had the hazardous substances
not been released, and to compensate the public for the loss of their use or
enjoyment of natural resources.
Contaminants biologists are working on numerous cases throughout Region 2. For more
information on specific cases, please click on the State you are interested in
below and you will be brought to a new window that contains an image map with the
NRDAR sites for that state. Click on a site and you will be brought to a new window that has specific information for that case.
