The Refuge is home to one of the largest and busiest Environmental Education (EE) programs in the Fish and Wildlife Service.

Through a learning process that employs nature as teacher, students gain an appreciation of natural systems, an awareness of environmental issues, and learn the importance of a healthy environment to humans as well as wildlife.

The Environmental Education Section at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge works with a wide variety of ages and interest groups.

EE Programs are offered on an advance reservation basis only. Class sizes are limited to ensure quality programming. Contact the Environmental Education Section at Refuge Headquarters for information.
