Friends of the Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, Inc. - This
non-profit organization is a significant, continuing supporter of
the Southeast Louisiana Refuges.
U.S. Geological Survey, National Wetlands Research Center (NWRC)
- This is the homepage of the NWRC. They provide scientific
research, education and training for wetlands.
Gulf of Mexico Foundation - The foundation funds and lead
various projects in and along the Gulf of Mexico.
National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) - The NMFS protects
and restores fish habitat in order to sustain fisheries and to
protect other marine species. This includes habitat restoration
projects that benefit the brown pelican.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - The Corps of Engineers
navigational dredging program produces material used in marsh and
beach side restoration of the islands.
America's Wetland - An organization committed to the
restoration and protection of Louisiana's coastal wetlands.
U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Wildlife Research Center
(NWRC,) Starkville, MS Field Station. Dr. Tommy King of the
NWRC helped us capture adult pelicans for the satellite tracking
program.
Louisiana State University (LSU) AgCenter - The AgCenter
supports 4H Junior Leadership Clubs in St. Bernard and Plaquemines
Parish. The 4H has completed habitat restoration projects at
Breton National Wildlife Refuge.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) - The
LDWF is involved with a broad range of fisheries, wildlife and
habitat protection programs.

responsible for natural resources management including in the
coastal zone of Louisiana.
