Daniel Mayer
Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery
My name is Daniel Mayer, and I am the Youth Ambassador for Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery in Natchitoches, Louisiana. I am presently a senior at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. My hometown is Houma, Louisiana, and I lived there my whole life until I came to LSMSA in the fall of 2008. When I graduate in the spring, I will attend Louisiana Tech University, pursuing an undergraduate degree in both Wildlife Habitat Management and Agricultural Business, with minors in both plant and animal science. I have always been captivated by nature and animals. After I finish undergrad I will go to graduate school, but I have no idea where I will go haha. My hobbies include reading, fishing, hiking, and gardening. When I am finally done with my education I will be a wildlife research biologist, and I really want to conduct American black bear research as my career. Through this program, I simply want to gain experience and see what research is like outside the lab.
