FY07 Budget request for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker recovery effort following
a meeting of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker recovery team executive committee
in Brinkley, Ark. At the same time, she will present the $800,000 in
grants to be awarded from FY06 monies.

Background:
Scarlett will announce the
President’s FY-07 Budget request for
the Ivory-billed Woodpecker recovery effort for the next fiscal year,
which begins October 1, 2006.
She will also announce $800,000 in Private Stewardship Grants to three
different organizations with four projects on private lands to improve
forest habitat to benefit the endangered Ivory-billed woodpecker.
