GOOD NEWS FOR HUNTERS AND FOR THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE. THEIR DIRECTOR -- STEVE WILLIAMS --WON THE OUTDOOR LIFE MAGAZINE'S 2004 CONSERVATION AWARD FOR PUBLIC SERVICE. WILLIAMS IS BEING HONORED FOR HIS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN STRENGTHENING THE CONTINUING PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE CONSERVATION AGENCY AND SPORTSPERSONS. HE IS IN CHARGE OF 542 NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGES AND LEADS THE SERVICE'S 8,000 EMPLOYEES. OUTDOOR LIFE MAGAZINE HAS RECOGNIZED LEADERS IN CONSERVATION STEWARDSHIP SINCE 1923 WITH THIS ANNUAL AWARD.
