Who: U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln What: Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of the White River National Wildlife Office/Visitor Contact Facility. When: Tuesday, May 28, 2002 Where: Site for the new facility, 27 South CC Camp Road, St. Charles, AR. South of Highway 1. (Please contact Ray Paterra for directions.) Why: The groundbreaking of the White River National Wildlife Refuge Office/Visitor Contact Facility will celebrate a project that has been in the works for over a decade. Thanks to the support of Senator Blanche Lincoln, Congressman Marion Berry, the State of Arkansas, and the local communities, the visitor facility will provide a draw to visitors to the region and increase the eco-tourism opportunities in the Mississippi Delta. When completed in the Fall of 2003, the facility will complement other initiatives to draw tourists to Southeast Arkansas. Media Opportunity: The media will have the opportunity to interview the Senator, Congressman, and other participants immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony.
