Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of construction of the White River National Wildlife Office/Visitor Contact Facility.

Tuesday, May 28, 2002
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where:

Site for the new facility, 27 South CC Camp Road, St. Charles, AR. South of Highway 1. (Please contact Ray Paterra for directions.)

Why:

The groundbreaking of the White River National Wildlife Refuge Office/Visitor Contact Facility will celebrate a project that has been in the works for over a decade. Thanks to the support of Senator Blanche Lincoln, Congressman Marion Berry, the State of Arkansas, and the local communities, the visitor facility will provide a draw to visitors to the region and increase the eco-tourism opportunities in the Mississippi Delta. When completed in the Fall of 2003, the facility will complement other initiatives to draw tourists to Southeast Arkansas.

The media will have the opportunity to interview the Senator, Congressman, and other participants immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony.
