| Comprehensive Conservation Plan PROJECT PROFILE Current Status: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is developing a Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) and associated NEPA documents for Banks Lake National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). An overview of the CCP process is provided in Planning Update 1 as well as details regarding the public meeting (Planning Update 2, posted to the left). Public scoping is planned to begin in late 2007. A public scoping meeting has been scheduled (see insert for details). The purpose of the scoping process is to identify important topics concerning wildlife and habitat on the refuge, day-to-day management and operation, interactions with our neighbors (including exotic weed management on refuge waters), and public use of the refuge. We encourage you to get involved in the scoping process by identifying these topics and sharing your ideas. Following the public meeting, a summary of public comments will be posted on this website. A draft CCP document will be available for public review in Fall 2008. The Service is currently taking comments on future management of the refuge.
