I am pleased to announce the selection of Mike Chotkowski as Field Supervisor for the San Francisco Bay-Delta Fish and Wildlife Office. Mike comes to the Fish and Wildlife Service from the Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation, where his work included managing the Mid-Pacific Region's Environmental Office and Applied Science Branch. Prior to his work with Reclamation, Mike worked for the California Department of Fish and Game and Illinois Natural History Survey. Mike has more than a decade of experience working on issues in the Delta. Mike has a Ph.D. in Biology and a Master's in Mathematical Ecology from the University of California, Los Angeles. I am sure Mike will do well leading the office, assuring that the Bay-Delta FWO office continues to fulfill it's role in meeting challenges in the Delta. Please welcome Mike in his new position with the Fish and Wildlife Service.
Mike is scheduled to report to his new position on August 1st. Until then, Jen Norris will continue as Acting Field Supervisor for the Bay-Delta FWO. Thanks to Jen and the staff at the Bay-Delta FWO for all of the work they've done and continue to do as I worked to select a new Field Supervisor.
