The Sewee Center is located 15 miles north of Mount Pleasant, on the east side of Highway 17 North, in Awendaw, South Carolina. The following site map shows the 9,000 square foot center which is utilized for visitor services and environmental education. There is a covered picnic area which will accomodate approximately 30 people. Adjacent to the center is the Sewee Pond, used only for special youth fishing events. The one-mile Nebo Pond walking trail takes visitors past the endangered red wolf enclosure and through bottomland and upland forest. Nebo Ponds, a popular destination for fishermen, is a short walk from the RV parking area. The ponds are stocked with fish every spring. Ample parking is available. There are handicapped spaces, an area for larger recreational vehicles and buses, and space for 85 cars.
