Attention all teachers!
Have we got a deal for you!

How would you like for your class to learn about an upland forest, a salt marsh, or a Carolina bay? Bring your class to the Sewee Visitor Center for a program each student will remember for a long time.

What you need to do!

Call at least 2 weeks before you want to come.
Complete the Program Confirmation form. and mail to us.

Plan for lunch--food services are not available; however, there is a 40-person picnic shelter, a screened porch and one of the classrooms can be converted to an eating area if weather and/or bugs are uncooperative.

The staff requires advanced notice of all group visits.  Groups are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call at least two weeks before a trip.

The following Habitat Data Sheets will help prepare your class for the visit to the center. The data sheets parallel the exhibit hall habitats. Please review each of the six data sheets with your students. Each habitat has an overview, list of species, important messages, vocabulary and a map. A few suggestions on how to present the information include flash cards for species and vocabulary, habitat essay research assignments, and role playing the components of each ecosystem.
