The staff requires advanced notice of all group visits. Groups are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call at least two weeks before a trip. The Sewee Center Staff conducts educational programs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays [one group per day]. The maximum group size is 50 and there are no fees. The programs last from 1½ to 2 hours and incorporate the orientation video, exhibit hall and red wolf educational area. Additionally, each teacher can select from the following list of activities for a program tailored to the group:
Sewee Visitor & Environmental Education Center The following Habitat Data Sheets will help prepare your class for the visit to the center. The data sheets parallel the exhibit hall habitats. Please review each of the six data sheets with your students. Each habitat has an overview, list of species, important messages, vocabulary and a map. A few suggestions on how to present the information include flash cards for species and vocabulary, habitat essay research assignments, and role playing the components of each ecosystem.
