The South Eastern Wildlife and Environment Education Association, Inc., (SEWEE Association) is a non-profit corporation formed to support the mission of the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge as a cooperating association under an agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. We began in 1996 as the Sewee Center was preparing to open with our
first goal being to open a book sales area within the center on opening
day. Since that time, we have continued to run a successful sales
area and have expanded our role. We have funded exhibits at the
Sewee Center and an observation blind on Bulls Island in Cape Romain NWR. We have been a major partner with the refuge in the creation
of the education programs at the Center and of the Sewee Earth Stewards
program taught in fifth-grade classes throughout the Charleston area.
Sewee Earth Stewards students discover what is found in "My Square Kingdom" at I'on Swamp.
What are we doing now?
