Touch! Feel! Hear!  Experience the unique heritage and natural history --plants, animals, amphibians—of South Carolina's lowcounty at the Sewee Visitor Center. A partnership operation between the Fish and Wildlife Service, the Forest Service, the Sewee Cooperating Association, and the South Carolina Center for Birds of Prey, provides educational opportunities and a pleasant experience for all ages.

Come See the Attractions

Live red wolves—a short trail takes you along a boardwalk to a viewing area and interpretive panels next to the  enclosure housing the wolves.
Exhibits hall—over 1,800 square feet of exhibits take the visitor on a journey from the forest to the sea. 
Map room—a three-dimensional floor model of the Forest and Refuge shows visitors the key points of interest. A touch screen computer offers visual glimpses and description of the recreational opportunities that abound.
Nature trail—an easy 1 mile loop trail along a pond, by the red wolf enclosure and through the wooded area surrounding the Center.
Auditorium—a 10-minute orientation film introduces the visitor to the wonders of the Forest and Refuge.
Environmental education classroom/laboratory. The laboratory is designed to conduct hands on experiments while the classroom is designed for lectures.
