The terrain and willdife of St. Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge offer amateur photographers a wide variety of photographic opportunities. The Refuge contains 5 lakes that provide a wonderful background to any photograph. Freshwater springs dot the landscape, offering a unique setting for plant and amphibious species. Another major photography opportunity lies in the western boundary of the Refuge...the Mississippi River. Always a point of fascination, the River offers a variety of photographic opportunities depending upon the current river level.

Also be aware that there are poisonous snakes located in this area. Visitors are urged to use caution when entering wooded areas.

Please make all efforts not to disturb the wildlife unneccessarily and do not litter.
