The Visitor Center has a wildlife exhibit, bookstore, and Discovery Room. The Center is open every day from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. November through February and weekdays only the rest of the year. Interpretive kiosks, benches, and restrooms outside the Visitor Center are available year-round. The trails and auto tours are open 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. Auto Tour Routes: There are auto routes on Sacramento NWR (six miles) and Colusa NWR (three miles) which meander along marshes and streams. A multi-level viewing platform is located halfway on the Sacramento NWR tour route (this is currently closed until further notice due to safety concerns). A viewing deck is located at the beginning of the Colusa NWR tour route. Walking Trails: -Sacramento NWR has 2 sets of walking trails. The Wetland Walk is two miles long and is open year round with access from the visitor center. Please obey all signs. They are placed to protect resting and feeding wildlife. |
