Operation Criteria & Plan for the continued operation of the Federal Central Valley Project and State Water Project
Action Steps
Under the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's OCAP biological opinion, the Service makes the final decision on actions to protect the species. The steps are:
- The scientists in the Smelt Working Group evaluate current information and make a recommendation. See SWG Notes below
- Senior agency managers of the Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, CA Dept. of Water Resources and CA Dept. of Fish & Game review the SWG recommendation, acting as the Water Operations Management Team. See WOMT Notes
- The Service makes its decision. See Service Decisions below
