The Service determined on March 4, 2008 that the target OMR flows will be in the range of -2500 cfs to -3000, not to exceed -3000. These flows have been determined to be protective of most delta smelt for the following reasons:
1) there have been no delta smelt salvaged at the facilities in the last three days, and
2) there have been no larval delta smelt sampled at either of the facilities.
It is recognized that temperatures have increased within the Delta and spawning is likely occurring; however, until there is additional survey information or larval fish are sampled at the facilities this level of OMR flow will be sufficient.
