Fish & Wildlife Careers
This is the main portal for Federal jobs. If you are looking for a Fish & Wildlife Service job, use the Advanced Search feature. Where it says Agency Search, scroll to Interior Department, then U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service."
You can also create an online resume. It can be available for agency recruiters. Or it can be private for you to use when applying for jobs.
We frequently hire student employees. There are two programs, SCEP and STEP.
- The Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) can lead directly to a job with the Service after graduation.
- The Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) is a general student job program.
See StudentJobs.Gov, the national student job portal.
We sometimes use volunteers. Contact us if you have a skill that we could use. Also, most refuges need lots of volunteers. See our resource links page for a list of refuges in our area. Also, check out Volunteer.gov/gov, the national volunteer portal.
Our goal is to ensure that all applicants and employees receive equality of opportunity. This objective calls for a work environment free of discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, and reprisal. The Regional Division of Diversity and Civil Rights page has more information.
No Fear Act
The intent of the Notification and Federal Employee Anti-discrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 ("No FEAR Act") is that federal agencies will pay more attention to their EEO and whistle blower complaint activity and act more expeditiously to resolve complaints at the administrative level when it is appropriate to do so. See No Fear information from the Dept. of the Interior.
