North-South Trail

New Refuge Trails Opening April 1
The Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge Perimeter Trail is now open! The soft surface path follows the Refuge from 72 Av and Quebec Pkwy to Hwy 2 & north to 96 Av where it continues east.

Hikers Enjoying Autumn At The Refuge

Walk the Prairie Trail through the shortgrass prairie while enjoying views of the Front Range Mountains behind the Denver skyline.

On the Woodland Trail you may encounter magnificent wildlife and beautiful wildflowers. The ROD AND GUN CLUB VIEWING BLIND provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about the importance of wetland habitat.

Enjoy the extended hours, 6 AM to 6 PM! The new days, Tuesday and Wednesday, will enhance your hiking experiences at the Refuge.Enjoy A Day With Your Family At The Refuge

The new Havana Ponds Trail and the North Ladora Trail will give you the opportunity to see mule deer, white-tailed deer, waterfowl and coyotes. Check out the map to see the locations.

Stroll on a floating boardwalk at Lake Mary Trail. Listen to the unique wildlife. or look for a Kodak moment around the lake.

Refuge Hiking Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
Visitor Center Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Old Buckley Road Trail

Old Buckley Road is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year!

East of the Refuge the former Buckley Road, closed to motorized traffic at 56th and 80th, can be used for walking and bicycling. This 3 mile stretch is a great place for wildlife observation through the Refuge fence. Signage and trail surface improvements are in the future..
