Photography

The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is a popular location for wildlife photographers. All public use areas of the Refuge are open to photography. Currently, the Refuge has no facilities specifically developed for photographers. However, the Auto Tour Route, trails, Plankhouse, and observation blind attract photographers of all skill levels. The Auto Tour Route attracts numerous wildlife photographers. Using the car as their personal mobile photo blind, photographers frequently drive the Tour Route snapping shots of wildlife in nearby fields, sloughs, wetlands, and forests. We request, that both birdwatchers and photographers utilize turnouts to allow safe passage by other visitors.
