Fishing
Salinas River Refuge is open to surf fishing for striped bass, starry flounder, sand sole, surfperch, steelhead, jacksmelt, and small sharks. There are no facilities beyond a parking lot and footpaths.

Hunting
Salinas River Refuge is open to waterfowl hunting, but there are no facilities beyond a parking lot and footpaths. Please contact the Refuge for hunt guidelines and restrictions.

Wildlife Observation
Salinas River Refuge is open to the public, but there are no facilities beyond a parking lot and footpaths. Activities include hiking, wildlife and wildflower observation, and photography. Those willing to walk from the parking lot to the beach are rewarded with beautiful scenery and an excellent presentation of native dune vegetation.
