  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Environmental Education
Structured educational programs are available for schools, community groups, and professional groups. Please contact District staff for more information.

Hunting
Hunting is permitted on WPAs as posted and in compliance with state laws.

Interpretation
Exhibits are available in the visitor center portion of the District office in the Federal building during business hours. Pamphlets and posters are free to the public. Videos and binoculars may be borrowed for short periods of time.

Wildlife Observation
While observation and photography are available on all WPAs, the Maga Ta-Hohpi WPA has mowed trails and an observation deck that overlooks a large wetland. From the observation deck, one can easily observe the great blue heron and cormorant colony.




Hours
Office hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, except on Federal holidays. Individual WPA Units are open 24 hours daily. Camping and motorized vehicles are prohibited on all WPAs.

Entrance Fees
No entrance fees charged for access to WPAs.

Use Fees
The Wetland Management District does not charge user fees (i.e., hunt fees, camping fees, boat launch, meeting rooms rental fees, auto tour fees, guided tour fees, etc.).
