  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Hunting
Firearm and archery deer hunting is allowed concurrently with state hunting seasons on Slade NWR.

Wildlife Observation
Visitation of the Refuge is limited due to lack of facilities and on-site staff. However, there are excellent opportunities to observe and photograph a wide diversity of prairie plants and animals.

Hours
The Refuge is open from dawn to dusk.

Entrance Fees
The Refuge does not charge an entrance fee.

Entrance Fees
The Refuge does not charge user fees (i.e., hunt fees, camping fees, boat launch, meeting rooms rental fees, auto tour fees, guided tour fees, etc.).
