Saltwater fishing is allowed around Pine Island NWR. (Note: Florida state fishing license and regulations apply.)
No hunting is allowed on the refuge lands.

Wildlife observation and photography opportunities are available from the water surrounding Pine Island NWR. The islands are not accessible to visitors. The endangered West Indian manatee, wood stork, eastern indigo snake, bald eagle, a wide variety of shorebirds, wading birds, waterfowl, raptors, and neotropical migratory species can be viewed from offshore.
