Environmental Education
Pine Island NWR receives little public use. Environmental educational opportunities are limited. Please call the J.N. "Ding" Darling NWR at (239) 472-1100 for additional information.

Fishing
Saltwater fishing is allowed around Pine Island NWR. (Note: Florida state fishing license and regulations apply.)

Hunting
No hunting is allowed on the refuge lands.

Interpretation

Wildlife Observation
Wildlife observation and photography opportunities are available from the water surrounding Pine Island NWR. The islands are not accessible to visitors. The endangered West Indian manatee, wood stork, eastern indigo snake, bald eagle, a wide variety of shorebirds, wading birds, waterfowl, raptors, and neotropical migratory species can be viewed from offshore.
