  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Fishing
Fishing is a popular sport within Lake Mille Lacs and is regulated by the State of Minnesota.

Interpretation
Interpretive signs describing the common tern nesting colony are located at major boat-access points around Lake Mille Lacs.

Wildlife Observation
The refuge is accessible only by boat and is marked with a "limited disturbance" area. Landing on the island is discouraged, but colonial birds can be observed from offshore.

Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters - Open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

Entrance Fees
