Fishing
Fishing is prohibited on the refuge, but is permitted on Caddo Lake, which is administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Hunting
Hunting is limited to Big Game only (white-tailed deer). Contact the refuge for information on open and closed areas, seasons, and permits.

Wildlife Observation
Visit the refuge on any given day and you can expect to see numerous resident and migratory bird species from over 216 recorded at the refuge and surrounding areas.
