 Fishing is allowed on Potter's Pond, Bayley Lake, McDowell Lake, and the Little Pend Oreille River and its tributaries in accordance with State regulations.  Hunting is allowed in accordance with State regulations. Our seasons are more restricted than the general seasons in Washington, and the refuge is closed to all hunting from January 1 - August 30, except for spring turkey hunting.  With over 200 bird, 58 mammal, 6 amphibian, and 8 reptile species, there are many opportunities for viewing wildlife. Click here to view wildlife checklists. 
 The office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding Federal holidays.
