The Refuge hosts an annual Okmulgee County Archery Day in late March for the students in the county schools who participate in the Archery in the Schools program. Activities at the Okmulgee County Archery Day include: a bulls-eye target archery competition; bowfishing; 3-D animal target shooting; and learning about other archery programs.

A “Women in the Outdoors” educational opportunity in conjunction with the National Wild Turkey Federation has been on the Refuge schedule for the last two years. Activities like kayaking , antler jewelry making , fly fishing techniques, archery target, shotgun education training, geocaching, Dutch oven cooking, and birding basics have been on the agenda.

Teachers wishing to schedule an educational program should contact the Refuge Office.
