Continued . . . The refuge opened to the public in June 2006 and features new visitor facilities including an entrance road and parking area, nature trails, wildlife observation overlooks, river overlook, interpretive panels, photography blind and environmental education study sites. A new Wildlife Center, complete with a multi-purpose room, environmental education classroom, and interpretive exhibits, was dedicated on March 29, 2008. An environmental education shelter is also planned and will be constructed as funds are available. |
