The Wyoming toad was once a common resident of the riparian and wetland communities within Albany County, Wyoming.

The other lakes are managed for waterfowl and other waterbirds such as eared grebes, western grebes, double-crested cormorants, American avocets, willets, great blue herons, and Wilson's phalaropes. The uplands consist of short grasses which support horned larks, savannah sparrows, western meadowlarks, Wyoming ground squirrels, and pronghorn.
