  Wildlife and Habitat
Continued . . .

The incredible density of wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region is unequaled in North America. The wetlands and surrounding grasslands provide critical nesting habitat for waterfowl, grassland birds, shorebirds, and colonial waterbirds, as well as resting and feeding areas for migrating birds. Not only does this area support an abundance of bird life, but many mammals, along with a variety of reptiles and amphibians, can be found here as well.
