  Wildlife and Habitat
Continued . . .

The district's lands are inhabitated by over 20 species of waterfowl during the spring and fall migration periods, and numerous other wetland-dependent wildlife species. Northern tallgrass prairie habitats within the district harbor a myriad of migratory, grassland-dependent birds and also resident wildlife species such as white-tailed deer, ground squirrels, and pheasants.
