Oregon Coast Stewards, Oregon Coast NWR Complex

There are six National Wildlife Refuges located on the Oregon coast, stretching from Tillamook Head south to the California border, three of the refuges are situated in the marine environment and three are located in estuaries.

OCNWRC refuges are perfect natural classrooms, where field experiences and stewardship projects link classroom lessons to coastal and marine issues while fostering critical thinking skills in science, math, English and other disciplines. In Oregon, Earth Stewards is designed to be flexible and mesh with what a class is learning and encourages schools to work with natural resource professionals to develop and teach an issue and community-based curriculum. It empowers children and their community to become stewards of fish and wildlife habitats.
