Event Description: The third Saturday of each month we will be doing habitat restoration out on the Refuge. The work will vary, from planting native plants, to removing invasives, to building brush pile habitats, and more. We will be out rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather, including sturdy shoes and long pants. We will provide all the tools and materials. All ages welcome, but kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We will meet at the trailhead at Steigerwald Lake NWR at 9am and walk to the worksite. This month we will be maintaining an older planting site along Gibbons creek east of the Gibbons Creek Trail. This will include cutting blackberry and fixing tree tubes. This is a great opportunity to see a different part of the Refuge!
