The Horseshoe Crab/Shorebird Festival is intended to be both fun and educational. This event hopes to help renew and build an awareness of the fragility of this area’s ecosystems and it’s local and visiting wildlife species. In addition, the Festival organizers hope to encourage greater citizen participation with environmental and outdoor recreational organizations, and to foster this with local schools, civic and cultural organizations, local government entities, and the citizenry. This festival promises to be fun for the entire family including live music, exhibits, food vendors, children’s activities, the Horseshoe Crab Express train ride, scavenger hunt, art show, films, lectures, canoe rentals, guided canoe trips on Prime Hook Creek, trail walks, games, and much more! Activities will take place in the Town of Milton through the Milton Chamber of Commerce and at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. |
