| Event Description: |
Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery invites all 4th graders of Russell County for the 6th Annual Outdoor Eco Adventure Day. On October 15, 2013 from 9 – 1:30 p.m. CST students will be introduced to interactive science education pursuits. The event, which was planned and implemented in partnership with the Russell County Soil Conservation District, is an annual endeavor designed to bring all 4th grade students from Russell County, Kentucky to the Hatchery. Students will participate in nine activities, learning about topics ranging from the make-up of soils to archery. Activities are presented by local and statewide organizations focusing on conservation and the environment.
To maximize learning, all presenters are encouraged to center their activities on environmental education, correlating their activities to state teaching standards. Sessions will run approx. 25 minutes, with each presenter teaching an estimated 9 groups.
