Join refuge staff and volunteers for the annual bird count “The Big Sit!'. Drop by the Cruickshank Observation Tower located at Stop # 9 along Black Point Wildlife Drive any time from 7:30 am until 2:30 pm. All interested birders are welcome and can stay just a few minutes or all day. The goal of the count is to find as many different bird species either observed or heard while sitting within a designated circle 17 feet in diameter. (Morning hours have more bird activity)
