Grants Programs for Friends

Friends of Heinz Refuge, PA, used a Nature of Learning grant to help children from Longstreth Elementary School plant a pollinator garden on the refuge.
Friends of Great Swamp, NJ, held the first Peer to Peer Coaching session in June. Other Friends groups are invited to submit their own proposals.

National Wildlife Refuge Friends Group Grant Program

This program provides competitive seed grants ranging from $1,500-$10,000 for proposals that focus on nonprofit capacity building, on-the-ground projects, and Friends peer-to-peer coaching. National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF)

The Foundation awards grants to strengthen Friends by building organizational capacity. Every Day Capacity Building grant applications will now be accepted year-round. Applications that are submitted between November 1 and April 30 will be reviewed in the Summer Cycle with 25 grants awarded in August. Applications that are submitted between May 1 and October 30 will be reviewed in the Winter cycle with 25 grants awarded in February.
