Controlled Burn Notice

Burning the marsh 512Klamath Basin Refuges begin spring prescribed burns on Tule Lake and Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge

Refuge firefighters are making preparations to begin treatment of marsh areas using prescribed fire. There will be approximately 8,000 acres treated on the Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge and Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge.
Burning is used to remove hazardous fuels, noxious weeds and enhance wildlife habitat.
