Wildlife+Art+Me: A year of nature art workshops for children and their favorite grown-up

Fine Artist Gaye Lingley teaching art 2013Connecting families and nature through art, we’re teaming up with the Living Coast Discovery Center and the Friends of San Diego Wildlife Refuges to offer an unique, exclusive opportunity!

Beginning May 17, 2014, children in 4th grade-12th grade will embark upon a long-term art adventure working with their favorite adult and artists every other month at the Living Coast. We’ll seek out wildlife in their natural habitats on trail walks, sketch sea turtles, and learn how to make our masterpieces come alive with watercolor pencils and acrylic paints!

Our hope is that participants will be inspired to develop a piece of art to submit to the  2015 Endangered Species & Jr. Duck Stamp art competition.
This experience is limited to the first 10 family units (20 participants) who RSVP. Additional parties may be put on a waiting list to join the group at a later date.
