Spring Pontoon Boat Tour- Wednesday, May 21, 2014; 9:00am-12:00pm
Search for Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Egrets, and Osprey during this unique opportunity to travel the land and waters of the James River with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Chesterfield County naturalists as your guides. A 44-foot pontoon boat will lead participants alongside historic Shirley Plantation and Presquile NWR. Limit 34 participants –no children under 10 years of age. Pre-registration required. Spring Pontoon Boat Tour- Thursday, May 22, 2014; 9:30am-12:30pm
Search for Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Egrets, and Osprey during this unique opportunity to travel the lands and waters of the James River with the US Fish and Wildlife Service as your guide. A 44-foot pontoon boat will lead participants alongside historic Shirley Plantation and Presquile NWR. A nature hike will also be available to those interested. Fall Pontoon Boat Tour- September 15, 2014; 8am-11pm
Travel the waters of the James River during peak Atlantic Sturgeon activity. Opportunity to see the unique species "breach" or jump out of the water. Additional wildlife viewing of birds, reptiles and mammals is likely. A 44-foot pontoon boat will lead participants alongside historic Shirley Plantation and Presquile NWR. A nature hike will also be available to those interested. Limit 34 participants -children under 10 must bring their own PFD. Pre-registration required.
