Potential Winter Drive CLOSURES

We are getting a number of winter storms through the area.  The snow is quite beautiful but may cause closures of the Winter Drive.   Heavy snow and drifting, plus rain, thaws and deep freezes have been quite unpredictable. We make every effort to clear the roads but much depends on the amount of snow and timing of the storms. Be cautious when driving snow-covered roads, as they can be slippery and deceptive.  Do not drive off the shoulder as you may encounter deep snow.  For your safety, obey any closures and do not attempt to pass barricades.

You may call the office (406/644-2211 extension 0) during business hours to get up-to-date conditions. Office hours are typically 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays - but if roads are particularly bad, staff may not make it into the office for the day.  Also, please remember that the office is closed weekends and federal holidays.
