2014 Weed Pull

May 31, 2014Weed Pull - How to Pull Weeds

The increase of noxious weeds means less native vegetation for deer, birds, insects, small mammals and pollinators. By pulling together we can work towards restoring a natural balance.

Learn weed identification, pull weeds together, eat a free lunch and get a door prize. In previous years, volunteers had fun pulling 2,500 pounds of weeds in 2 hours! Families, scout groups, and organizations are welcome to help improve wildlife habitat. Join staff from the Refuge and Ravalli County Weed District on Saturday, May 31st. Meet at Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (just north of Stevensville) from 9am to 1pm. This 10th annual free event offers a free lunch and door prizes for participating. Bring water, gloves & be ready for rain or shine (tools are provided).

Call by May 28th to register for your free lunch, 777-5552.
