Frequently Asked Questions About the Refuge Rambler Club

1. What is the Refuge Rambler Club/Program?
The Refuge Rambler Club is a fun new program designed to encourage people to go outside, explore the tails of the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge, get fit, and meet new people with similar interests. The Refuge has over 30 miles of hiking trails scattered in the cities of Fremont, Union City, Menlo Park, Mountain View, San Jose, and Sunnyvale. Trails featured in this program range from 1.5 miles to up to 9 miles. It is self-paced and there is no time limit to complete a trail.

2. How Does the Program Work?
Once you sign up, you will receive a Refuge Rambler Patch identifying you as a member, a trail passport, a schedule when and where the walks take place, and a description of the trails. Show up at the designated time and place where a refuge volunteer or staff will be the point of contact. The refuge staff/volunteer will place a sticker on your trail passport. He or she will also walk the trails. If you complete 7 of 8 of the featured trails, you will get an All-Star T-shirt.
