Riekkola, Porter Point & Lewis Units Closed to Public Entry
Due to activities associated with the Bear River Estuary Restoration Project, the Riekkola, Porter Point and Lewis Units are closed to public entry. These Units are planned to open to public access for the fall hunting seasons.
This summer the Porter Point Unit impoundment will be restored to historic estuarine conditions, increasing open water, intertidal flats, and salt marsh habitat by 145 acres. Restoration will benefit a diverse array of species including chum and Chinook salmon, shorebirds, waterfowl and other migratory birds, as well as contribute to the overall health of Willapa Bay.
