Slider-laying_512x219National Wildlife Refuges work closely with other researchers, Universities and science-based organizations interested in supporting the agency’s wildlife conservation mission.

The following are some of the research projects conducted on the Washita National Wildlife Refuge. 

  • Survey and limited collection of Odonates (dragonflies and damselflies) at Washita and Optima National Wildlife Refuges (University of Oklahoma)
  • Survey and limited collection of small mammals at Washita National Wildlife Refuge (Southwestern Oklahoma State University)
