Partnerships

White Pelicans - NGPCPartnerships have and continue to be an important part of conservation at the Refuge. Just like white pelicans work together to herd and capture fish, by working together we can make the Refuge a better place for wildlife and people.

The National Wildlife Refuge System is committed to building partnerships which encourage conservation and preservation of our natural and cultural resources.  Partnerships with the Refuge System bring innovative approaches to solving land management and water disputes in the most environmentally protective manner.  Scientifically-informed and technologically-based stewardship of our public lands, waters, wildlife and special places must be collaborative efforts between the Refuge System, other government agencies, and private organizations if conservation efforts are to succeed.

Working Together

Boat Ramp

We have and continue to work with many partners in getting conservation on the ground. Ducks Unlimited helps with water control structures, the Forest Service with conducting prescribed fires, Nebraska Game and Parks with fish and wildlife surveys and fishing access, Nebraska and South Dakota universities with research, and the Sandhills Weed Management Area with invasive plant control. Scientifically-informed and technologically-based stewardship of our public lands, waters, wildlife and special places must be collaborative efforts between the Refuge System, other government agencies, and private organizations if conservation efforts are to succeed.
