Due to flooding of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, areas of Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge are closed, however the visitor center remains open. Contact the staff at the refuge visitor center for more information by calling 618-883-2524. The visitor center is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and the first two Saturdays and Sundays of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

When the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers are frozen or in times of high water the ferries may close. Management efforts of the US Fish and Wildlife Service have brought this majestic bird back from the brink of extinction. Bald eagles can been seen in winter at Two Rivers NWR and through out the confluence area.
