Seedskadee National Wildlife
Refuge partners with Trout Unlimited and Wyoming Game and Fish Department
annually to bring Take a Kid Fishing Day to Rock Springs / Green River area.
The day is filled with fishing, fun, and friends at the Wataha Park Pond in
the Events Complex in Rock Springs over Father's Day weekend in June each year.
The refuge visitors center is a great place to host a meeting, class, or school group. The meeting room has tables, chairs, projector and kitchen. We
have environment education programs for summer camps or school field trips
available upon request. Staff also, if available, can come speak
to groups or give presentations about the refuge, its animals, and habitats. Scout or youth projects are available upon request as well.

The Shoshone Indians gave the Green River its first name "sisk-a-dee-agie" or "River of the Prairie Chicken." Fur traders later altered the name to "Seedskadee."
