Mesa Avanzada historical structure remains/W. Radke The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service maintain a law enforcement presence on National Wildlife Refuge lands.

Federal law enforcement officers ensure the safety of the public and the protection of natural resources.  They address illegal activities, including poaching, taking of endangered species, illegal collection, dumping of trash, illegal operation of all-terrain vehicles, trespassing and more.  Refuge law enforcement officers assist Department Home Land Security agents with national security, smuggling, and illegal immigration issues. 

To report a violation on the San Bernardino National Wildlife Refuge: 

  • Monday through Friday (7:30 am to 4 pm), call 520-364-2104 ext. 103 or 105
  • After hours or on weekends, call 520-732-9668 or 520-368-8205 

For injured wildlife, please contact a qualified wildlife rehabilitation facility near you licensed through the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
